Domaine des Barrenques

Tucked away just outside the quiet village of Lamotte-du-Rhône, in a corner of Provence where the Vaucluse meets the Drôme Provençale, Domaine des Barrenques is an estate that feels wonderfully lost in time.

The estate’s story stretches all the way back to 1324 and has been home to orchards, farmland, a working mill, and a magnanerie where silkworms were once raised. Today, those layers of history still seem to live everywhere — in the ochre-coloured façades, beneath the canopy of centuries-old trees, and across the lavender and thyme that perfume the surrounding grounds.

It was exactly the kind of place we hoped to find for our wedding: romantic, storied, a little wild, and full of life. Somewhere that feels unmistakably Provençal, and just far enough removed from the everyday to make a celebration feel like its own little world.

For one weekend, we get to add our own small chapter to its story — and we can’t wait to write it with you.
